Lao people are not stupid, Lao government do know what they are doing. They like Ho Chi Minh more than any other world leader, so it does make sense to have a HCM Memorial Statue somewhere in Laos. And it would be a laugh to have Mao Tse Tung, George Washington, etc.
Agreed, Laos goverment is not stupid but the people who are runing the show have their hand tied by Viet-Kongs from the day one. Viet-kong is Laos consultant, which mean ”you do as I said or there will be trouble” an example, there was time when Laos cannot trade goods with China or any other country beside vietnam. That was not Laos choices. It came from Viet-kongs. The choice was so bad that Laos could not stand on it feet. Laos was cutoff from the outside world. People got starve and children could not get education and it enconomy went down the hill.
We all should know that We The Lao NOT we the Viet.
Lao should build only Lao Hero in Lao.
If Lao Government build Ho Chi Minh Memorial Statue in Lao and I will NOT be surprise because you know why Lao became communist country in one of this days because of Viet. I’m glad that love Government DID NOT put Ho Chi Minh picture in Lao money.
Laos was colonized by the French, and now being taken advantage of by Viet. Soon, everything Lao owns will belong to foreigners if not already are. Seriously, Laos has REAL friend in this world. We are so far behind with education, technology, knowledge, and etc. Most if not all foreign countries entering Laos has one goal in mind; to extract all natural resources. How do we resist? We can’t; modernization comes with huge sacrifices. Lao, please rise and fight for the future generation!
who’s need Ho chi minh statue in Laos??? he must insane,he must not be 100% Laotian,his mother must be vietcong married to laotian.Enough is enough,we don’t need any vietcong to tell us what to do. we sick and tie of one party who control everythings.we had enough educated people to do the jobs,but these people get no changes.look around you! how they do in EGYPT,TUNISIA do we have courages like them? ask ourself?do we need vietcong to order us around??think! laotian it’s time to use our brain! it’s time for ”FREE ELECTION IN LAOS” the sooner we do the better we save our country.see you in the face book!
Let them build what ever they wanted that’s their history. After all Pathet Lao (they) fought for being colonized, imperialism, taxes, and corruption. The royal family and the princes fought each other for their glorified which is none now, so who cares. Let the Vientnam be the Lao patriotism and Lao will be come Laoviet or vietlao. Oh, Maybe Laochen or Chenlao. I forgot one thing, Vietnamese had run Lao administration since the Lao independent from French so what’s the big deal.
