Laos: No Compensation for State Land Intruders and Illegal Occupiers in That Luang Wetland

Laos’ Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad says that there will be no compensation for intruders and illegal occupiers of state land in the That Luang marshland, and their structures or buildings will be removed. (English and Lao descriptions)

  1. Mr Somsavat is right why should His Chinesse have to pay for the compensation to Lao, the Vietnamesse Did not have to pay anything  more Viet in Laos than Chinesse.Lao owe China the Country of Laos.

  2.  Vientiene thatluange area will soon be taken over by china. Laos goverment has already signed a 50 years contract with Chineses goverment to build china town homes. The problem is Laos people live in that area don’t want Laos government to move them elsewhere because that their land. Even if the goverment has to pay them to move, they only going to pay little bit of money. So the question is does Laos goverment ever think about the people in that reqion or people around the country before they made that decision with the China? To me it looks Laos goverment let it own people down again. There are many other reqion in Laos that still need a development, why not use them wisely for the people.
